    Hi Andrew,
    thanks for the review.
    - Can you provide some info how different AVA is from the original MyMovies2011 (beside naming/branding)?
    - And will updates be available as soon as MyMovies make them or only after some delays after Transquil has tested etc. them ?
Reason for asking is why should I use AVA instead of MyMovies (and the other wa around)?

      hi Clark

      All good questions :-)

My Movies and AVA Media are the same, just re-branded.

I have asked Tranquil to comment on the update speed.

As for why you should choose one over the other – well it could come down to cost. With AVA Media there is a one off cost of around £21 depending on which pack you go for. With My Movies you need a certain number of points, which again can cost money or time depending how you want to acculumate them.

There is no right or wrong answer here – its a personal choice.

      Andrew

Here is the response from Tranquil on the second question:

We get updates the Add In 7-10 days prior to general release, to allow us to test / approve.
We then always provide updates on our support site (free).

Have they dropped support for the WHS v1 product ? I believe it was called RipNet. Is it still available for purchase ? I did not find it on their site.

      John

      Got this back from Tranquil:

RipNet for WHSV1 is free and always will be (The Add In for Media Centre (target) is currently only included with our Media Centres)

RipNet for WHS2011 will be launched very soon.

Sorry, I get RipNet & AVA Media mixed up. I should have asked if AVA Media for WHSv1 is still available ?

AVA Media is the full package, like MyMovies but you purchase a license instead of earn points like MyMovies. Is there a price tier depending on the options ?

As far as I know AVA Media for WHS v1 is still available, and it is just a single price to get all the features.
