Back in November we brought you news about Tranquil PC’s next Windows Home Server – the Riley Server and yesterday we brought you the exclusive unboxing of the Riley CP30. Today we bring you our exclusive unboxing of the Riley SU8 Storage Unit.

What’s in the Box?

The box is very well packaged, and comes in a very sturdy black box and everything is seated nicely inside.

Along with the Riley SU8 there is power supply and an eSATA cable.

As you can see, there is a series of 5 dip switches that control the storage configurations.

Quick Thoughts

My initial thoughts when I took the SU8 out of the box was that it was slim, sleek and looked very cool (which is exactly what I said about the CP30). It is very heavy, but then you would expect that given the material it is made out of! Which is what I also said about the CP30, only this is MUCH heavier – but it also contains 4 hard drives as well!
