DISH announced the launch of a few new services today. Here is what they had to say:
New DISH Products
Blockbuster @Home – Our Blockbuster package is enhanced with a growing number of family and kid shows available on demand, as thousands of titles are being added. With this change the package is also being re-branded to Blockbuster @Home. This expanded package now includes:
· Over 100,000 DVDs and video games by mail
· Over 20 movie and family HD channels on the set-top box
· Encore, Epix, Movieplex and Starz content available on demand on the iPad using the DISH Remote Access app
· And soon, the list of on demand movies, family and kids shows will grow to more than 25,000 titles available on the computer and more than 10,000 titles available through the set-top box
New DISH Test Drive – We want America to experience DISH’s TV Everywhere™ technology, so we are launching DISH Test Drive. Today, consumers can register at www.dish.com/testdrive to receive 24 hours of complimentary access. They will be able to experience our superior technology and watch a sampling of content on their computer or mobile device.
New Broadband Bundle — Up until now, broadband satellite has over-promised and under-delivered. Not anymore! Our new DISH broadband Internet bundle will deliver up to 12 Mbps of speed. Our partners at ViaSat will provide the basic broadband services enhanced by DISH billing, installation, customer service and advertising. Bundled with our pay-TV packages, the cost for this package starts at under $79.99 per month.
New DISH Brand Image
New DISH Logo – Our new logo is short, consistent, simplistic and elegant. Our “DISH” brand will represent our pay-TV business while “DISH Network” will remain our corporate name. Starting later this quarter, you will see our re-energized DISH brand alongside our Hopper and Joey logos and on all of our products, promotions, collateral materials and advertising.
New DISH Website – Our new online presence at www.dish.com will have the same look and feel as all of our customer-facing communications. And, of course, it will feature Hopper in animated form when the product is launched. The new web address is in-line with our elegant logo. As part of the web launch, we are adding www.MyDISH.com, the new primary site for existing customers. They will use this site to manage their DISH accounts and programming packages, pay bills, and more.
