CloudBerry Adds Encryption, Compression and Restore to Glacier

CloudBerry recently added support for Amazon’s lower-cost Glacier service, but did not support restores, encryption or compression. Good news: they have now added that support! Read on for details.
We recently told you that CloudBerry’s backup service has added support for Glacier, absent the ability to use compression or encyption and also missing the ability to process a restore. Good news: these features are now available with Amazon’s lower-cost Glacier and CloudBerry! Here are the details from CloudBerry:
Restore, Encryption and Compression support for Amazon Glacier with CloudBerry Backup
CloudBerry S3 Backup is a powerful Windows program that automate backup and restore processes to Amazon S3 and Amazon Glacier storage.
Just a few weeks ago we introduced the first release of CloudBerry Backup with Amazon Glacier support. With the current release we introducing data compression and encryption support . In addition now, you can restore the data directly from CloudBerry Backup.
To take advantage of the new options go to the Compression and Encryption step of the Backup Wizard and specify appropriate settings.
To do the restore simple run the Restore Wizard. Note, that the data in Glacier vault become available in about 4 hours after the request, so restore operation may take long.
This is good news; if you are using CloudBerry and are interested in lowering your storage costs, this is now a viable option.
