Snoop-De-Doop, the add-in for managing duplicate files for WHS, SBS and Server 2012 Essentials, has been updated to version 1.80.  Here is the announcement:

Our popular Snoop-de-dupe add-in for WHS V1, WHS/SBS 2011, and Server 2012 Essentials has been updated to version 1.80.  Product details, a free trial, and purchase information can be found on our website http://www.snoopdedupe.com

Snoop-de-dupe allows you to manage storage space on your server by easily monitoring for duplicate files in real-time.  Once detected, the duplicate files can be ignored, replaced with a hard-link, or deleted as specified by the server administrator.

Changes for this release:

  • Added a new “browse folders for duplicate files” feature. This new feature is located under Batch Resolve and provides a new method to locate and manage duplicate files. You can browse folders just like Windows Explorer then select any single file and view all duplicates of that file in a single view
  • Certification for Server 2012 Essentials
  • Updated German localization
  • Minor bug and usability issues

Existing Snoop-de-dupe license holders can upgrade for free directly within the add-in.  From the Server Dashboard, select the Snoop-de-dupe tab, select More Settings, and click the Check For Software Update link.

You can find more details about add-in on the Snoop-de-dupe website http://www.snoopdedupe.com/howto.html

A free trial is available http://www.snoopdedupe.com/trial.html

You can purchase a license for the Snoop-de-dupe add-in for $14.99 USD from our website http://www.snoopdedupe.com/index.html

Good program, I still use the WHS v1 version. Great to see that WHSv1 is still supported.

I just installed this update on 2011. The new folder browser feature is great – very intuitive. Thanks guys for continuing to support our home server boxes.

This is a convenient little addin. I’m glad to see the it is still getting support. I find it great for locating duplicate media that might have gotten copied around. It has kept me from having to add a new drive to my server a couple of times.
