New Borderlands 2 DLC to Add New Playable Character

Borderlands 2 is to receive a New Playable Character via DLC. Gearbox Software’s Jonathan Hemingway and Matthew Armstrong made the announcement at SXSW Interactive and hinted that the new Vault Hunter will be melee-focused, Polygon reports.

A teaser trailer for the character shown at the convention depicts a hulking, silhouetted figure killing enemies with its bare hands. “Deep beneath Pandora, an experiment has escaped,” the trailer teases. “Bandits beware, a new Vault Hunter is coming. More mayhem awaits.” Season Pass holders will not receive the new DLC for free, Joystiq has learned. No date for this new DLC just yet but hopefully very soon.
