Last week in New York Acer unveiled their new Aspire P3 Ultrabook. We were there and managed to get a closer look at one.
Today, many users are faced with choices between notebook, hybrid, convertible or tablet designs when selecting a mobile computing device. The Aspire P3 takes care of that, with no compromises required. The Aspire P3 is the ideal mobile computing device for users who create and consume content.
Weighing only 1.39 kg and measuring 19.75 mm thin, the newly defined mobile PC delivers on the promise of Ultrabooks with excellent performance and long battery life in a highly portable form factor. It adds the many benefits of tablet with a design that allows the touch-screen display to be used in pad mode or detached from the keyboard-case. This gives Acer customers enhanced mobility as well as more ways to enjoy their device using touch for the latest apps, viewing photos, keeping in touch and having fun.
The chiclet keyboard built into the cover is full-sized, so customers can comfortably use it for productivity tasks such as writing documents, and creating spreadsheets. The Acer Aspire P3 comes with an optional stylus that fits in the case for customers who want the convenience of pen-based input.
Optimized for entertainment, the Acer Aspire P3’s 29.5 cm (11.6”) HD display with IPS technology highlights video, photos and other multimedia in brilliant and accurate colour and clarity. The wide-screen design beautifully highlights movies, and multiple people can enjoy entertainment on the go thanks to the display’s wide 170-degree viewing angles. Dolby Home Theater boosts sound for headphones as well as built-in speakers. Audio and video on the Acer P3 can be shared with additional displays via its HDMI port. The built-in Acer Crystal Eye HD front webcam captures video in 720p HD, bringing life to video web chats while the 5MP back camera captures photos in high resolution. The new Ultrabook features a 60GB or 120GB SSD for powering on the device and retrieving data quickly and securely.

Where is it available from?
I’ve no idea Melanie. I would like to know too. I have searched online with no luck.
I’ve been searching for where to buy the P3 for the past few days, but I all I can find are blogs like this that say it’s available immediately, but with no indication of where it can be purchased.
Acer – If you’re going to launch a new product and say it’s available immediately, then do the courteous thing and say where you can buy it from or risk losing custom to rival products!
