Microsoft is said to have confirmed the price of its first-party games for the Xbox One. The platform holder has revealed that software on the next-generation machine will be priced at $59.99 (£38.20), making it no more expensive than Xbox 360 releases.
The news was broken by Kotaku and later backed up by a report on Polygon. Sony is yet to announce prices for its first-party PlayStation 4 releases, but has been tipped to maintain a similar cost structure to the PlayStation 3.
It is also yet to be revealed how much third-party offerings for studios such as EA, Ubisoft and Take-Two will cost, with some reports suggesting that development costs could rise during the next generation, forcing a price hike from some firms.
