At E3, I ran into Jennifer Hale after she did a panel on the Turtle Beach stand and she was kind enough to sit and talk with me for a few minutes.

Exclusive Interview with Jennifer Hale at E3 2013

Jennifer has voiced a lot of characters, including Commander Shepard in the Mass Effect series, Princess Peach, and more recently Nia in Fuse, amongst many others.

So over to Jennifer:

Thanks again to Jennifer for taking the time to talk to me.

We recently had the opportunity to sit down again with Insomniac Games CEO and founder Ted Price to talk about their forthcoming game Fuse due for release in a few weeks.

Fuse is a 4-player co-op, story driven action game that forces players to consider what happens when humans exploit alien technology they were never meant to have. Developed by award-winning Insomniac Games, Fuse enables players to use lethal teamwork as they battle a rogue paramilitary outfit that has stolen a volatile alien energy source called Fuse.

Each agent is equipped with Fuse-powered weapons that gives them unique capabilities to expand their strategic options and yield extraordinary results. Solo players can experience each unique agent by using the LEAP feature to switch characters at will during combat. As players complete objectives, they earn Fuse points that can be spent on powerful upgrades.

Over to Ted and that all new gameplay:

Here is the interview we did with Ted earlier in the year.

And you can also check out when we interviewed Brian Allgeier from Insomniac Games about Fuse too.

Fuse is due to be released in 30th May 2013 on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

A demo for Insomniac’s Fuse will be available on Xbox Live Marketplace and the PlayStation Network on 7th May, allowing players to play online cooperatively with up to four players, or in a 2-player split-screen.

In the demo, players will take on the role of Dalton Brooks, Izzy Sinclair, Jacob Kimble and Naya Deveraux. “When it comes to Fuse, the biggest thing we’ve noticed when sharing it with others for the first time is that playing is believing,” said Ted Price, CEO and founder of Insomniac Games. “Fuse takes four player co-op in a new direction with features you won’t find in other third person shooters: from LEAP where you can jump between each of the four unique agents at will to the experimental Xenotech weapons to the deep RPG-like character progression system. And by the way, all of these features rock for solo players as well. Join us in this brand new universe for a quintessential Insomniac Games experience.”
Fuse will be available on 28th May in North America and 31st May in Europe for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

EA have released a new trailer for the Insomniac-developed shooter ‘Fuse’. Previously known as ‘Overstrike’, the shooter follows a set of agents known as the ‘Overstrike 9′ unit, who have been tasked with stopping an alien energy source from falling into the wrong hands.

The new ‘Four Against Everyone’ trailer let’s us know a bit more about the game’s general plot and shows off quite a bit of gameplay. It looks like a great mix of tounge-in-cheek humour, explosive action and brutal combat.
‘Fuse’ is set to be released in Europe on 31st May. It will be available on Xbox 360 and PS3. You can watch the new trailer below.

Here is the Fuse Mission Briefing Trailer:

And the announcement trailer:

I played Fuse for a short while and found it to be quite enjoyable. The ability to jump between characters was certainly interesting however I didn’t like the idea of the game being over if only one of the four characters dies. I get it if you are playing 4 player co-op, however if you want to play single player then you are responsible for all 4 players at the same time and if the computer happens to play poorly and one of the 3 characters you are not controlling dies its over. I reaming to be convinced how good it will be with less than 2 or 3 players.

Fuse is due to be released in March 2013.

Yesterday was the Beeb@30 event in Cambridge, and Raspberry Pi was there. We got some hands-on with it and also got to talk to Eben and Liz Upton from the Raspberry Pi organisation.

CDW - The Beeb @ 30 Event 037

There was a table set up with a working Raspberry Pi on it that belongs to the Centre for Computing History. For those who are interesting, theirs is board number 7!

Here is a closer look at the Pi:

The Raspberry Pi was also running a ZX Spectrum Emulator (FUSE) and people got to play on the classic Spectrum game Manic Minor. And it was cool!

Eben Upton took to the stage after lunch and gave a very interesting presentation that talked about how he got into computers, and he also gave an update on the status of the shipments. We took some video which we will post up soon.

CDW - The Beeb @ 30 Event 334

What he said was that 1,950 Raspberry Pi’s were at that moment somewhere over Siberia and should be in the UK either Monday or Tuesday!

Below is a picture of the Raspberry Pi running Twitter via Midori. It was displaying real-time tweets at the event, and if you look closely the top tweet on the screen is actually us tweeting about the Raspberry Pi being there and working!

CDW - The Beeb @ 30 Event 233

Have you ordered one yet? Mine should be here in May.
