New version of CloudBerry Backup offers an ability to store backup plan configuration in the cloud. CloudBerry customers now can export their backup plans settings to the cloud storage and use them to restore when needed and/or deploy the same settings across multiple machines.

In addition,  we added a security enhancement that allows encrypting files and folders names that in some cases can reveal highly confidential information and must be strongly protected.

And finally the French language has been added to over a dozen languages we supported already.

Nokia Beta Labs are looking for your help to test a new app called Nokia Play To. Want to help them?

screencap1

This is what Nokia Beta Labs said:

With the “Play To” application for Nokia Lumia phones you can show pictures and videos wirelessly on other DLNA capable devices (TV’s, BlueRay players, Mediaplayer in Windows 7, etc…) connected to their network.

Future releases of the application are planned to also include support for music.

Your help is needed to make this app GREAT!!

We want to get this great app out in the marketplace for all Nokia customers to enjoy, but we want to make sure they have a great experience.

Please download the application and try it at home with a DLNA-capable device, then let us know if it worked or not (for example, by writing a review if it worked, or submitting a bug report if it doesn’t work).

Either way, we would like to know the type of router you were using, the make and model of the DLNA device (TV, Blu-Ray player, etc..) you were connecting to or trying to connect to.

Another piece of valuable information would be if your TV/Blu-Ray player was connected to the network via a cable or connected wirelessly.

CloudBerry S3 Backup is a powerful Windows program that automate backup and restore processes to Amazon S3 cloud storage.

Today CloudBerry released an updated CloudBerry Backup add-in (v2.4) for WHS v1, WHS v2011 and SBS v2011 Essentials with the block level updates for all files.

Here is what CloudBerry say:

CloudBerry Online Backup is a powerful Windows program that automates backup and restore processes to Amazon S3 , Windows Azure, Google and other cloud storages. Cloudberry Backup is perfect for small and mid-sized businesses looking for simple and reliable online backup solution.

As always we are adding features to make it easier for our customers to use the functionality and the Block Level Backup has always been one of the sought after features. With the CloudBerry Backup release 2.3 we have added the functionality that would back up only the modified blocks of the files to the cloud storage making the overall backup process faster and more efficient. This feature had one serious limitation -you could only take advantage of it for files larger than 5GB.

With the new release v2.4 we are introducing Block Level Backup option for the files of any size. Moreover this feature comes with the ability to do encryption, compression and versioning which was also a limitation of the previous release.

Block Level Backup is useful if you want to backup large files such as SQL Server Backup files, MS Exchange Database, Outlook PST files and virtual machine images.

To use Block Level Backup for all size of files you should choose the Advanced Mode in the Backup Wizard. Also, check Use block level backup checkbox.
