Las Vegas – LaCie, the premium brand from Seagate Technology (NASDAQ: STX), announced at the 2014 NAB Show the release of its first Thunderbolt™ 2 rackmount storage solution: the LaCie™ 8big Rack Thunderbolt 2. Compact and stylish, the LaCie 8big Rack features up to eight 6TB 7200RPM HDDs from Seagate, for an impressive 48TB in a mere 1U size. Delivering speeds of up to 1330MB/s*, it is the most powerful plug and play rackmount solution for 4K video editing.

Thunderbolt 2 Speeds

Thanks to Thunderbolt 2, the 8big Rack delivers ample bandwidth to support 10-bit, 4K footage. With this kind of performance, videographers can work directly from RAW files in Apple® Final Cut Pro® or Adobe® Premiere®, get maximum quality from footage and see edits in real time.

Hardware and Data Reliability

The LaCie 8big Rack features data and component redundancy so that users will experience zero downtime in the unlikely case of hardware failure. Fans, disks and PSU** are fully redundant, hot swappable*** and user-serviceable. The LaCie 8big Rack also includes hardware RAID 5/6 for failure-proof data security that doesn’t compromise transfer speeds. Additionally, the hardware RAID controller means that users can connect the product to any workstation without losing the RAID configuration.

Stylish 1U Design

With professional rackmount storage, usability can be a huge differentiator among users. As a result, LaCie designed the 8big Rack to deliver extraordinary usability for professionals. LaCie Enhances Award-Winning 5big with Thunderbolt 2 Technology and RAID 5

Las Vegas – LaCie, the premium brand from Seagate Technology (NASDAQ: STX), announced at the 2014 NAB Show a leap forward for its award-winning 5big. Now featuring Thunderbolt™ 2 technology, hardware RAID and industry-leading capacity, the new LaCie™ 5big is nearly two times faster – delivering speeds of up to 1050MB/s*. Thanks to Seagate’s new 6TB 7200RPM hard disks it boasts a 20% capacity increase, which makes it the most compact 30TB storage device on the market. With these advances, the new LaCie 5big gives video professionals huge capacity and ample bandwidth for improving 4K workflows right on the desktop.

Storage for the 4k era

As a result of Thunderbolt 2 technology, the LaCie 5big delivers incredible, sustained speeds of up to 1050MB/s. Connect three LaCie 5bigs in parallel to a new Mac Pro® for up to 90TB of capacity and speeds of up to 3000MB/s on a single workstation. This is enough bandwidth to edit several video streams in native 4K resolution. With this kind of speed, videographers working in Apple® Final Cut Pro® or Adobe® Premiere® get maximum quality from footage and see native 4K edits in real time.

“Having enough speed and capacity to back up and edit more than 100 terabytes of REDÒ 4K footage was one of our biggest challenges when self-producing the Macklemore & Ryan Lewis 2013 World Tour documentary series,” said director Jason Koenig. “LaCie’s 5bigs have been critical in allowing us to handle and cut on the tour bus with no issues. I haven’t used a more reliable drive.”

“At the 2014 NAB Show, there is a clear focus on 4K video,” said Jason Ziller, Marketing Director for Thunderbolt at Intel. “We are pleased to see critical players like LaCie introduce robust storage solutions, such as the new 5big, which emphasize the power of concurrent 4K video transfer and data delivery via Thunderbolt 2 capability.”

Raid for speed with security

The LaCie 5big offers a range of RAID modes that allow users to tailor the product to their needs. Its hardware RAID delivers sustained performance, better flexibility and the ability to connect the product to another computer while keeping the RAID configuration.

RAID modes 5 and 6 provide complete data protection against disk failure, while providing excellent speed and capacity. These features make the LaCie 5big an ideal solution for users that want to use a single storage product for both video editing and backup. In protected RAID modes, even in the case of disk failure, the LaCie 5big’s hot-swappable disks mean zero data loss or downtime.

Dual Thunderbolt ports

The LaCie 5big features two Thunderbolt 2 ports for daisy chaining. Professionals can daisy chain up to six Thunderbolt devices to a computer via a single cable (included). Thunderbolt 2 is also backward compatible, using the same cables and connectors as first-generation Thunderbolt** devices and computers. Professionals can now create a plug and play 4K video editing environment with increased capacity, incredible speed and convenience to their workflow.

Advanced Cooling And Long-Term Reliability

The LaCie 5big’s cutting-edge cooling system ensures long-term reliability by preventing overheating. The system consists of three key components: an innovative heat-dissipating aluminum casing, a Noctua® cooling fan, and jumbo heat exhausts. The ultra-quiet Noctua NF-P12 fan pulls heat away from the internal components while producing very little noise. Altogether, this professional cooling system makes the LaCie 5big incredibly reliable and perfect for even the most noise-sensitive creative environments. Additionally, the 5big casing is made from a seamless aluminum cast, acting as armor to protect internal components.

Availability

The new LaCie 5big, featuring Thunderbolt 2, will be available this quarter in 10, 20 or 30TB capacities through the LaCie online store and LaCie resellers. Pricing will be announced when the product is available for purchase. For more product information, visit www.lacie.com.

WARRANTY

The LaCie 5big is protected by a three-year limited warranty. LaCie Revolutionizes Dual-Bay RAID Storage

LAS VEGAS – Today LaCie, the premium brand from Seagate Technology (NASDAQ: STX), debuted at the 2014 NAB Show its latest 2big with a host of features including Thunderbolt™ 2 technology, hardware RAID and a new industrial design. Speeds of up to 420MB/s* along with two 6TB 7200RPM hard disks from Seagate make the new LaCie™ 2big the fastest, highest capacity dual-bay external storage solution on the market. Plus, its all-new industrial design sets a new standard for versatility and reliability.

THUNDERBOLT 2 SPEED

The LaCie 2big features speeds of up to 420MB/s thanks to Thunderbolt 2, a hardware RAID controller and 7200RPM disks. With these speeds, videographers can edit multiple 2K uncompressed 10-bit streams or play back compressed 4K video. Digital photographers can browse massive RAW photo libraries with zero lag. And audio pros using software like Avid® Pro Tools® will notice much smoother audio mixing.

Hardware RAID

The LaCie 2big’s range of RAID modes gives users the flexibility to tailor the product to their needs. RAID 0** maximizes speed and capacity, while RAID 1 provides data protection if one disk fails. With hot-swappable disks, users can simply replace a disk – from the front – with zero data loss and no work interruption. The LaCie 2big even features JBOD, so users can see and work with each disk independently.

INNOVATIVE DESIGN

When reengineering the 2big’s industrial design from the ground up, LaCie, along with industrial designer Neil Poulton, focused on usability for professionals. Accessing disks from the front makes it faster and easier to remove and replace them. And front-facing disk status LEDs let busy professional easily keep track of disk health and RAID build status. The redesigned cooling system effectively diverts heat from components, ensuring long-term reliability. The ultra-quiet Noctua NF-A6x25 FLX thermoregulated fan keeps the product cool, while producing nearly no noise. Additionally, integrated cable locks prevent accidental disconnection of the interface and power cables without compromising the look and design of the product.

“I designed the new LaCie 2big as pure desktop architecture – a deceptively simple aesthetic to house the highest tech on the market,” said award-winning industrial designer Neil Poulton. “Like a marble Carlo Scarpa staircase, the details are precise and honed. The new LaCie 2big is a Bauhaus building for your desk. On rubber treads.”

VERSATILITY FOR PRO ENVIRONMENTS

With USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt 2 interfaces, the LaCie 2big gets the best possible speeds on any late-model PC or Mac®. USB 3.0 backward compatibility means that users can connect the LaCie 2big to any standard computer***. With support for exFAT and hardware RAID, users can seamlessly connect the product to both PC and Mac computers while maintaining the RAID configuration.

Thunderbolt 2 continues to support daisy chaining up to six devices to a computer via a single cable (included in the box). This means that professionals can daisy chain up to five LaCie 2bigs plus a 4K display to a computer, bringing capacity, speed and convenience to the desktop. Thunderbolt 2 is also backward compatible and uses the same cables and connectors as first-generation Thunderbolt*** devices and computers.

AVAILABILITY

The LaCie 2big, featuring Thunderbolt 2, will be available this quarter in 6, 8 or 12TB capacities through the LaCie online store and LaCie resellers. Pricing will be announced when the product is available for purchase. For more product information, visit www.lacie.com.

WARRANTY

The LaCie 2big is protected by a three-year limited warranty. The warranty includes complimentary web-based resources, expert in-house technical support and worldwide repair and/or replacement coverage. Warranty extension and Advance Care Option can also be purchased. For details, visit www.lacie.com/warranties.

* These transfer rates were achieved using AJA System Test when connected to a 13″ MacBook Pro® with a 2.8GHz Intel® Core™ i7 processor and 8GB RAM. Actual data rates may vary depending on operating environment and other factors, such as RAID mode, RAID configuration, and disk capacity.

** Hot swapping will result in data loss in a RAID 0 array.

*** To achieve full interface bandwidth, connect the product to either a USB 3.0 or Thunderbolt 2 port on a computer or device.

LaCie was good enough to send on a LaCie Fuel portable hard drive aimed at mobile devices.  Here is my review!

Background

The LaCie Fuel is a portable wireless hard drive that allows you to take up to 1TB of content with you and consume it on your mobile device.  To start, here is how LaCie describes the Fuel:

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

LaCie Fuel Expands iPad Capacity to 1TB

PARIS, FRANCE – Today, LaCie announced Fuel: a go-anywhere wireless hard drive for iPad®, iPhone® and Mac®. Without requiring Internet access, the LaCie Fuel™ adds 1TB of external storage capacity to compatible mobile devices. Users can store up to 500 movies, 160,000 songs or 190,000 photos, and share them with up to five devices at a time. What’s more, AirPlay® compatibility means users can easily stream movies onto the big screen via Apple TV® or music to compatible speakers.

Wirelessly expand your ipad

The LaCie Fuel lets users access enormous media libraries right from their iPad. With 1TB of storage at their fingertips, they don’t need to pick and choose what they load onto their mobile device. Not only does the LaCie Fuel let them access all their media files while they’re on the go, it also has plenty of extra space to accommodate future needs.

“The mobile industry is ubiquitous. Consumers rely on their mobile devices more than any other personal technology,” Philippe Spruch, executive vice president, Seagate branded, CEO and chairman of the board, LaCie. “The LaCie Fuel enriches mobile entertainment by providing consumers with ample storage and untethered accessibility. By name, form, and function, the LaCie Fuel lets users sustain their digital life.”

Access and share content

The LaCie Fuel lets users go off-the-grid and still have access to their files. With up to a 10-hour battery life*, the LaCie Fuel lets users enjoy their media all day without needing Internet or cables. The product creates its own Wi-Fi network, much like a router, so other devices can connect directly to it without the need for Internet access. In addition, the LaCie Fuel acts as a hotspot when connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi. This feature lets the LaCie Fuel share Internet access with other connected devices.

With AirPlay compatibility, the LaCie Fuel lets users mirror content playing on a mobile device to a TV with a single tap. This allows users to view everything from vacation photos to home videos stored on the LaCie Fuel on the largest screen in the house. They can also take advantage of Airplay-enabled speakers to listen to their favorite playlist on the LaCie Fuel.

Sync and transer files

The LaCie Fuel appears as an external drive on a computer, so users can wirelessly upload or download files without draining battery power from their laptop. And with Dropbox integration, they can sync files between a computer and the LaCie Fuel automatically. This means that every time they add music, movies, or photos to the Dropbox folder on their Mac, the change is reflected on the LaCie Fuel – or vice versa. If users want to speed up the transfer process, the LaCie Fuel offers a universally compatible USB 3.0 port to transfer media libraries up to ten times faster.

App for easy media access

LaCie Fuel marks the first product collaboration between Seagate and LaCie. The wireless hard drive features streamlined file access, thanks to the free Seagate Media app – available for iOS®, Android®, and Amazon Kindle®. It automatically organizes files by type, making them easy to browse. Users can stream videos or music, open office documents, and enjoy full-screen navigation. The app makes browsing a media library a visual experience with support for photo and video thumbnails, plus cover art for music. LaCie announced a fun USB key called the Culbuto today at CES.  The Culbuto has a weighted base and also includes a handy business card holder in the cap.  Here is the press release:

LaCie Culbuto USB Key Takes Users for a Whirl

LAS VEGAS – Today, LaCie announced the Culbuto™, a quirky USB key brought to life by French designer Constance Guisset. When not connected to a computer, the LaCie™ Culbuto whimsically bobs side to side as it is poked – much like a roly-poly toy. In fact, the name Culbuto is French for a toy with a weighted base that keeps the object vertical even after it is knocked down.

“The search for movement and balance is essential in my work,” said Constance Guisset, product designer. “Repeated and infinite oscillation fascinates me. For my first project with LaCie, I proposed a slightly roly-poly key that eventually became LaCie Xtremkey. When LaCie asked me to develop this idea, Culbuto was the result. It’s an irresistibly fun USB key.”

The LaCie Culbuto is a storage device disguised as a decorative object. It has a spherical solid metal base topped with a silicone rubber stem that ends with a USB 3.0 connector. On its top, a cap that closes off the LaCie Culbuto features a slit to hold a photo or business card. Design-conscious consumers will appreciate both the speed benefits of USB 3.0 and the key’s additional purpose as a whimsical picture holder when not in use.

Molded from a cast, the LaCie Culbuto’s “soft touch” rubber gives a pleasant feeling to the fingers. When set on a surface, the USB key will spark conversation as it dances along the tabletop. Watch the video to see the key in action:

Software Suite Included

LaCie’s Private-Public software protects confidential data stored on the LaCie Culbuto. Even in the case of loss, theft or unauthorized access, files are secure with password protection. In addition, the key comes equipped with LaCie Backup Assistant for automatic backup.

Old World Luxury Meets Modern Technology with LaCie Sphère, Design by Christofle

PARIS, FRANCE – Today, two brands known for elegant design announce a silver-plated hard drive: LaCie™ Sphère™, design by Christofle. Whether gracing the table of a 19th Century prince or the desk of a modern-day CEO, a piece by Christofle makes an impression. Building on LaCie’s initial partnership with Christofle that produced the Galet™ USB key, the Sphère integrates Christofle’s luxurious heritage with the industry’s latest technology.

The handcrafted hard drive is enclosed in a spherical case of silver-plated steel. Due to its round shape, the LaCie Sphère requires a careful manual plating process. It is stamped, silver-plated and finally polished for a perfect brightness in Christofle’s silversmith workshop in Yainville (Normandy), France. The highly reflective finish makes the hard drive a decorative piece to accompany any upscale home or office workstation.

“The shape of the globe inspired the design concept for the LaCie Sphère. The sensual and strong silhouette naturally led us to the product name,” said Thierry Oriez, president and CEO, Christofle. “We combined our obsession with the reflection of silver with LaCie’s technical expertise to create a hard drive that exudes elegance and sophistication like no other.”

“With the Sphère, LaCie and Christofle have once again thought outside the box. In an industry where square thinking is the rule, this product reflects LaCie’s innovative edge,” Philippe Spruch, executive vice president, Seagate branded, CEO and chairman of the board, LaCie.

LaCie technology

The LaCie Sphère gracefully connects to a computer with a single USB 3.0 cable that also powers the hard drive. The USB 3.0 connection delivers fast performance to quickly back up business documents or a media library. A blue LED illuminates the front of the LaCie Sphère to indicate hard drive status. Additionally, the 1TB hard drive comes equipped with LaCie’s software suite: Backup Assistant for easy and automatic backup, Private-Public for password protection, and Eco Mode for energy savings.

LaCie today announced a new Thunderbolt 2 storage solution, the Little Big Disk Thunderbolt 2, which they claim as the fastest Thunderbolt 2 equipped storage product on the market.  Read on for details!

LBD2_34_right

LaCie today announced a new Thunderbolt 2 storage solution, the Little Big Disk Thunderbolt 2, which they claim as the fastest Thunderbolt 2 equipped storage product on the market.  Pricing is TBD and this device is expected to be available in Q1 2014.  Here is the press release:

LaCie Debuts World’s Fastest Portable Storage at CES 2014

Paris, France – Today, LaCie announced the Little Big Disk Thunderbolt 2 at the 2014 International CES Show. The new LaCie Little Big Disk, one of the first storage solutions enabled by Thunderbolt 2, is the fastest portable storage solution on the market. It delivers speeds up to 1375Mb/s, which is several times faster than any mobile USB 3.0 hard drive. In addition to its industry-leading performance, LaCie worked with designer Neil Poulton to bring a cutting edge look to the product. For the first time, the Little Big Disk features a sleek, black finish to its fully aluminium enclosure.

Perfect for no-compromise video professionals, the new LaCie Little Big Disk permits streaming and editing of 4K or 3D video while in the field – a giant leap forward for mobile post-production workflows. The LaCie Little Big Disk is powered by a set of 500GB PCIe Gen 2 SSDs in RAID 0 that deliver a perfect blend of performance and capacity that accelerates in the most demanding workflow.

With the fastest SSDs on the market, LaCie had to optimize the Little Big Disk’s interior design to improve the cooling efficiency, while keeping it as silent as possible. By incorporating a thermo-regulated fan, it only turns on when necessary and produces nearly zero noise. As a result, the LaCie Little Big Disk delivers the best possible performance without disrupting the creative professional workflow.

“Thunderbolt 2 creates an entirely new way of thinking about 4K workflows, specifically the ability to support raw 4K video transfer and data delivery concurrently,” said Jason Ziller, Marketing Director for Thunderbolt at Intel. “LaCie’s Little Big Disk brings this advanced capability to a small, sleek and very portable storage solution that works with 4K streams in the field in ways previously not possible.”

“It’s no small feat, incorporating the most advanced storage technologies into a portable product,” said Erwan Girard, Business Unit Manager, LaCie. “With the Little Big Disk, LaCie engineered a remarkably powerful product to fit in the palm of your hand. Something no one else in the industry can claim.”

At CES, LaCie demonstrates how the Little Big Disk lets videographers work directly from RAW files, getting full quality from footage and seeing the edits in real time. LaCie will show how professionals can capture 250 gigabytes of 4k footage on a Little Big Disk in the field, and then transfer the content to the post-production team in under 10 minutes.

This announcement follows the unprecedented success of LaCie’s Thunderbolt Series and further asserts the company’s commitment to deliver high-quality products featuring the latest Thunderbolt technology.

Availability

The LaCie Little Big Disk Thunderbolt 2 will be available for purchase in the first quarter of 2014 through LaCie’s resellers and LaCie.com. Thunderbolt cable included. The LaCie Little Big Disk is protected by a 3-year limited warranty.

LaCie has released an update for their NAS OS3 NAS operating system today, addressing Wuala connectivity issues, increasing RAID5 performance, adding the ability to sync with the NAS, and some other improvements.  The update is available now for the 5big PRO and will roll out to the 2big NAS in August.  Here is the press release:

LaCie Updates NAS OS 3

New Version Increases NAS Speeds, Expands Hybrid Cloud, and Adds Professional Features

pARIS, FRANCE – LaCie today announced an update to its NAS OS 3 software, increasing RAID 5 write speeds by 25 percent, expanding hybrid cloud capabilities, and adding more professional features. NAS OS 3 powers the LaCie 5big NAS Pro and 2big NAS professional storage solutions. These improvements advance LaCie’s commitment to providing its customers with innovative and user-friendly NAS.

RAID 5 SPEED BOOST

With this update, the LaCie 5big NAS Pro now features RAID 5 write speeds up to 100MB/s on a single LAN, a 25 percent increase from the previous NAS OS version. This speed boost enables admins to easily back up several computers at the same time. Alternatively, content creators can edit 1080p content directly from the NAS.

HYBRID CLOUD ADVANCEMENTS

In addition to letting users sync data between a computer and the cloud, NAS OS 3.1 now lets users sync data between a computer and the NAS. This ensures that all employees have the most current version of files on all their devices. Sync makes sure that an employee in sales, for example, will always have the most up-to-date price list and can pull marketing collateral from their phone or tablet during a sales pitch.

MORE PROFESSIONAL FEATURES

NAS OS 3 now features hardware monitoring that alerts the admin in real-time of potential issues with the fan, CPU and RAM. It also features SMART hard disk diagnostic tests and hardware status email alerts. These new capabilities let admins stay on top of data security and prevent downtime.

LaCie has also added support for multiple iSCSI initiators and targets. This brings flexibility to a company’s virtualization scheme, including those that integrate Citrix®, VMware® or Hyper-V® servers. Admins can combine storage into data center arrays while letting host computers mount network storage as if it were direct-attached disks. They can even host multiple virtual machines using several iSCSI targets.

LACIE NAS SOLUTIONS FOR PROFESSIONALS

The LaCie 5big NAS Pro and 2big NAS, powered by NAS OS 3, offer fast and secure professional network storage. These solutions feature true hybrid cloud integration with network-attached and secure cloud storage in a single view, giving users anywhere and anytime access to files. With speed, reliability, usability, and backup for PC or Mac®, these products are ideal for small business network storage needs. For additional information, visit www.lacie.com/NAS.

Availability

The NAS OS 3 update (version 3.1) is available today for the 5big NAS Pro and will be available in August 2013 for the 2big NAS. The upgrade offers full compatibility with Windows® XP, Windows VistaÒ, Windows 7 and Windows 8, and Mac OS 10.5, 10.6, 10.7, and 10.8. The upgrade can be downloaded at no cost by visiting the “Support” widget in the product’s Dashboard.

Here are some screen shots of the revised NAS OS3:

I’ve been using an earlier beta version of this update since July 5th, and I’ve noticed that the issues that I was having in connecting to Wuala have been completely resolved, which is great news.  In addition, the added hardware monitoring and more verbose logs are welcome improvements.  I’ll be updating my review to incorporate this update soon, so stay tuned.

If you are running a 5big NAS PRO, go ahead and get your update today, and enjoy!

In Part Three of our Lacie 5big NAS Pro review, we look at media streaming capabilities.  Read on for details!

In Part Three of our Lacie 5big NAS Pro review, we look at media streaming capabilities.  One of the core requirements that I have for NAS units is seamless management of media for streaming to a variety of devices.  Let’s see how the 5big NAS Pro does!

In Part One, I looked at general setup and installation.

In Part Two, I looked at Remote Access and Wuala installation.

Apology for the Delay

This review series has been delayed by about a month and I apologize for that.  I had to take a trip to Japan for work, and while I was gone, our basement flooded, meaning that I had to dismantle most of my test equipment until that was cleaned up.  Now that we’re back up and running, I am back at this review series.  Look for good stuff coming soon!

UPnP Streaming

Go ahead and log into your 5big NAS Pro dashboard.  You’ll see this:

Now onto UPnP/DLAN.  Click Application Services.

Select the Pencil icon for UPnP/DLNA.

In Part Two of my review of the LaCie 5big NAS Pro, I show you how to set up remote access and basic Wuala for cloud access.  Read on for details.

In Part Two of my review of the LaCie 5big NAS Pro, I show you how to set up remote access and basic Wuala for cloud access.  In Part One, I showed you how to perform the initial basic setup of the NAS unit.  I experienced some flaky Wuala performance when I tried to rely on just UPnP to assign the server’s IP addresses, so I needed to set a static IP address.  Wuala would report that the 5big NAS Pro was offline; sometimes, a reboot of the NAS and/or router would resolve this, sometime not, so I  decided to go ahead and set up a static route and also a DHCP reservation for the 5big.  I went ahead and deleted the static route, using only the DHCP reservation method in the end, but I’ll show you both options here.

Setting Up A Static IP Address

The 5big NAS Pro supports maintaining connectivity and remote access availability without setting up a static IP by relying on UPnP.  This means that you can simply connect your 5big NAS Pro and let it and your router negotiate the IP address to assign, and your remote access site is available reliably in this setup.  However, I found that Wuala would often lose connection with the 5big NAS Pro when relying on this setup, and solved the issue by setting a static IP address.  This setup shows how to configure a static IP (a permanently-assigned, never-changing IP address) on a 5big NAS Pro using a Linksys EA6500 AC1750 AC router.

Log onto your router.

Click on Connectivity on the left hand side of the screen.

Click Advanced Routing and then Add a Static Route. Populate the information for the static route. Click Save.

Wuala, the cloud storage service owned by Wuala, rolled out an app update yesterday on all supported platforms, bringing video streaming to the new LaCie NAS units.  It also fixes bugs, which resolved an intermittent Wuala connection bug with the 5big NAS Pro that I have for a review unit.  Here is the Android change log:

What’s New

What’s in this version:

New features in version 2.6: – Pictures: Zoom in on a picture. – Streaming: Stream your videos or songs directly from the cloud, your LaCie 2big NAS or LaCie 5big NAS PRO. Other changes: – Many bug fixes New Permissions: – “prevent phone from sleeping” and “view network connections”: required for streaming music in the background.

I have confirmed that this change applied to Android and Windows 7, and the video streaming worked just fine on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 running Android.  I’m also working on an updated review of Wuala, so stay tuned for that; in the meantime, go ahead and download this update if you are running Wuala.
